Licenses

Sapotek is a proud Free and Open Source software (“FOSS”) company. Consequently, all of the code and the graphical images found on Desktoptwo – with the exception of our own, very limited intellectual property, over which we maintain full rights and protections (see Copyright) – are governed by the following, well known open source licenses:

1) All development code (both source and object) and related documentation is governed by the Affero General Public License or AGPL. The AGPL is almost exactly the same as the GPLv.2 except for one provision, Sec. 2(d), which relates to software deployed over a computer network. The AGPL is therefore more appropriate for the development of web applications.

2) All artwork, graphic designs and icons as well as end user documentation such as the FAQ and other end user guides and manuals are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 License.

To download any of the covered code or images or to contribute to development, please go to Sapodesk and join one of the most exciting and fastest growing free software communities on the web.

Lastly, we highly recommend that you become familiar with the language, intent and licenses of the Free Software Foundation and the Open Source Initiative since a strong knowledge and appreciation of OSS is central to our vision.
